This book began as a poem written years before my sweet soulmate cat, Squiggles, passed away. In the wake of grief, the original words took on a whole new meaning. I began drawing images to go with the the story, looking at photos of Squiggles and letting emotion guide each page.
The result is a 60-page hardcover keepsake that weaves together original art, poetry, and a guided exercise to help you write your own poem about your pet. It’s the kind of story that helps you breathe a little easier before bed — and reminds you that the love you share with a beloved pet never dies.
✦ 60 pages of original illustrations and poetry
✦ Guided poetry exercise to write your own poem about your pet
✦ Hardcover with holographic foil detailing
✦ For adults and children ages 8+
✦ Not AI generated — every word and brush stroke came from the heart

There are moments in grief that feel impossible to express. The way it felt when their heart beat against your chest. How their gaze filled you with so much love. The deep gratitude mixed with profound yearning.
Nothing captures love, grief, wonder, and awe quite like poetry. And these tender moments — as hard as they are — are an invitation to open yourself up to create something meaningful.
This guided exercise walks you step by step through writing your own poem about your pet. And I promise you this: by the time you finish, you will have written a poem, even if it’s a simple haiku.
No writing experience needed. Just you, memories of your pet, and a little space to let the words out.
✦ A word bank to capture every detail before it fades
✦ Haiku prompts to ease you in — even if you’ve never written poetry before
✦ Guided prompts — a love letter, a perfect day, what they’re up to now
✦ Pages of writing space to let it all out
✦ A finished poem you’ll treasure forever
