Pet Grief Support

Find solace after saying goodbye to a soulmate pet

Losing a pet is one of the most devastating life experiences you can go through.

Your pet isn’t just a source of comfort – they bring endless amounts of joy and unconditional love to your life while teaching you how to be present.

Imagining a world without them feels impossible.

Unfortunately, the joys of having a pet are met with one downside that no one ever wants to accept – that one day, you’re going to have to say goodbye.

Not only that, caring for your pet as they age can bring on waves of anxiety, anticipatory grief, and cause you to miss out on living your own life. And if your pet died unexpectedly or needed to be euthanized, the guilt and self-blame can feel crippling.

Whether you’re seeking support for pet-related stressors, trying to decide when it’s time to say goodbye, or just lost your pet-best-friend and don’t know where to turn, I am here to help.

nothing can prepare you for the loss of a pet

You are not alone.

A pet is more than “just an animal.” They are a cherished member of your family, and can oftentimes feel like an extension if your soul. Saying goodbye to a pet is awful, and can leave your heart shattered in a million pieces.

Here are some common experiences you might be feeling after losing a pet:

Being consumed by deep emotional pain that is worse than any kind of grief you have felt before.

Worry, guilt, and regret about how your pet died.

Feeling isolated or misunderstood by others who don't understand the depth of your bond.

Extremely low energy, easily irritated, and more anxious than usual.

Feeling like life has no purpose without your pet.

Wanting to get a new pet one day but you're afraid you'll never love another animal the same way.

Hi, I'm Paige.

And this is my sweet soul-mate cat, Squiggles, who passed away in 2023.

First and foremost, if you found yourself on this page, that means you either recently lost or you’re preparing to say goodbye to a beloved pet that means the world to you. I am so very sorry for your loss.

As a lifelong pet lover, I understand the special bond you share with your most loving and loyal companion. And I know how excruciating it is to have to one day say goodbye.

Even when your pet has transitioned out of our physical realm, I believe that the bond you have with them can still be honored and celebrated forever.

Everyone’s grief journey is unique. And at the same time, there are tools and insights that can help you feel less overwhelmed and more grounded as you get through your day-to-day without your pet by your side.

Whether you want to work together one-on-one, or join my new membership community, The Furever Forest, I am here to support you as you mourn the loss of your beloved animal companion.

I use mindfulness, creative expression, cognitive behavioral tools (CBT), and self-compassion to help you navigate the loss of your pet at your own pace.

My hope is that you’ll leave our sessions feeling more willing to care for yourself as deeply as you would care for your pet.

If you don’t tend to your mental health amidst the loss of your beloved animal companion, you’re at greater risk of prolonging your grief or making choices you regret later on.

I commend you for seeking help during this devastating time. Getting support from others who understand will help you find some relief from the pain, and encourage you to navigate your grief journey with resiliency and strength.
